We are looking for a person who is motivated, passionate and committed to great service to join our team at BLG Business Advisers as a full-time Accountant. You will need to be an Undergraduate Accountant or studying Chartered Accountant with at least one years experience behind you.

You will work alongside skilled Chartered Accountants within a social and supportive work culture, with opportunities for career growth and regular in-house training. You will be entrusted to be welcoming and responsive to our diverse range of business clients so they continue to receive the best service possible.

Your role as an Accountant at BLG will involve:

  • Responsibility for compliance work such as preparing financial statements, income tax returns and business activity statements (BAS) for a range of clients
  • Supporting a diverse client base with tax and business advice
  • Using a range of accounting software including APS, Class Super, Reckon, MYOB and Xero
  • Contributing positively to the culture of BLG and working with others toward team goals
  • Building lasting relationships with clients

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • At least one years experience at a public practice accounting firm
  • Completing a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) degree or undertaking a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification
  • A high level of initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage a busy work load with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Be focused, friendly and an excellent communicator with a strong emphasis on building client relationships
  • Have excellent IT skills, including:

- Microsoft Excel & Word

- Current experience with accounting software packages ie. Xero, QuickBooks Online, Reckon & MYOB

- Current experience with APS & Class Super will be favourably regarded, however is not essential
