Face-to-face catch ups with family will certainly be a priority over the Christmas break, along with seeing friends that have been locked down or subject to border restrictions. While technology has been great at allowing us to stay in contact, I’m sure you’re as keen as I am to substitute the online trivia for a barbeque or a beer garden!
With the lines between home and the office very much blurred over the past 18 months (much to our dog’s delight, he is very much on board with my wife and I working from home), some time away from both home and the office will be crucial to refresh before jumping into 2022. At this stage the State premiers have mostly indicated that they will continue on the pathway to dropping border restrictions and allowing free domestic travel - so fingers crossed we can re-book our trip to Queensland that has been postponed since July!
Even if we end up staying local, we just need some time away from screens! We’re pretty lucky in Wollongong. We’ve got beaches, bushwalks, mountain bike trails and an array of pubs and craft breweries to check out. A personal favourite is Five Barrel Brewing, conveniently located across the road from our new office on Keira Street.
